[The Ruby Core Team Takes Ownership of the RubyGems Repo](https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/news/2025/10/17/rubygems-repository-transition/) — After several weeks of confusion, the RubyGems/Ruby Central situation reaches a conclusion with ownership of the RubyGems and Bundler repos shifting to the Ruby core team. [Ruby Central](https://rubycentral.org/) will, however, continue to manage and govern the projects jointly with the Ruby core team. On _X_, Rich Kilmer, one of RubyGems' co-creators [has celebrated this outcome.](https://x.com/rich_kilmer/status/1979167654867873898)

💡 Ruby Central has also [issued a statement](https://rubycentral.org/news/ruby-central-statement-on-rubygems-bundler/) on this new development. [![\](https://res.cloudinary.com/cpress/image/upload/c_limit,w_480,h_480,q_auto/copm/0c628a72.png)](https://dashboard.memetria.com/rubyweekly/)

[Rails Blocks: UI Components for Rails Apps](https://railsblocks.com/) — If you’ve ever used [shadcn/ui](https://ui.shadcn.com/) in the React world, this is a similar idea for Rails apps: copy and paste UI components styled with Tailwind CSS that you can just drop into your app’s code. Most of the components are free, but there’s also a “Pro” level for which there is a paid license.
