[The '_RubyGems_ Fracture' Incident Report](https://rubycentral.org/news/rubygems-fracture-incident-report/) — A postmortem of the [Ruby Central vs Bundler story](https://andre.arko.net/2025/09/25/bundler-belongs-to-the-ruby-community/) in late 2025 which resulted in the Ruby core team [taking stewardship](https://socket.dev/blog/ruby-core-team-assumes-stewardship-of-rubygems-and-bundler) of RubyGems and Bundler. The timeline of events is laid out in detail, but it’s unlikely to resolve the matter entirely (as demonstrated [in this Reddit comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/ruby/comments/1s8of1f/rubygems_fracture_incident_report/odjk4je/) by Mike Perham).

Richard Schneeman (Ruby Central)

💡 _The Register_ also has [a good independent take on this update](https://www.theregister.com/2026/04/01/ruby_central_report/) factoring in some of the responses to it. [How a Solo SaaS Founder Stopped Worrying About Rails Maintenance](https://www.fastruby.io/blog/reliable-rails-maintenance-for-solo-saas-founders.html?utm_source=cooperpress&utm_medium=paidplacement&utm_campaign=rw-primary-link-apr-02-2026-1&utm_term=saas-founder&utm_content=bonsai-case-study) — "FastRuby.io is the steady baseline behind everything. They've simplified my life and freed me up to focus on what's important." See how [Bonsai's fixed-cost monthly maintenance](https://www.fastruby.io/monthly-rails-maintenance?utm_source=cooperpress&utm_medium=paidplacement&utm_campaign=rw-primary-link-apr-02-2026-2&utm_term=less-worry&utm_content=bonsai) helped Tim go from chasing contractors to peace of mind.

- [Ruby 3.2.11 has been released](https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/news/2026/03/27/ruby-3-2-11-released/) to fix the recent [zlib vulnerability](https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/news/2026/03/05/buffer-overflow-zlib-cve-2026-27820/), much as [Ruby 3.3.11](https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/news/2026/03/26/ruby-3-3-11-released/) did last week. 🤖 [Rails Upgrade Methodology as Claude Code Skills](https://www.fastruby.io/blog/open-source-claude-code-skill-for-rails-upgrades.html) — I actually used [the raw MD files](https://github.com/ombulabs/claude-code_rails-upgrade-skill/tree/main/rails-upgrade/version-guides) last weekend to upgrade a Rails 6 app to Rails 8 and it went well.
