## 2019-09-15 (v2.0)

After far too long, there is no longer any qualifier suffix in the version string, so it is now finally just “TextMate 2.0”.

I am grateful to everybody who has submitted a pull request, but the following people deserve a special mention:

* Boris Dušek who is responsibly for TextMate’s much improved accessibility support.
* Jacob Bandes-Storch was a tremendous help replacing use of 32 bit APIs.
* Ronald Wampler is just an all around great contributor.

Not everything on the wishlist made it into 2.0, but TextMate remains a work in progress, so don’t despair :)

*— Allan Odgaard*

## 2019-08-26 (v2.0-rc.31)

* Attempt at workaround for system stall when calling TextMate via mate.

Just wanted to thank you (and all the contributors) for continuing to work on TextMate! I use it professionally pretty much every day, and it's one of the most valuable tools in my toolbox. Keep up the good work!

Huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project. TextMate is by far the best editor to use when it comes to coding cleanly and efficiently. I have tried every new editor that pops up from time to time so that I can stay up-to-date on what is out there and I can definitively say I am not missing out on anything by sticking with TextMate!!!

Thank you @sorbits. For making TextMate in the first place all those years ago.

And thank you to everyone who has and continues to contribute to the ongoing development of TextMate as an open source project.

~13 years later and this is still the only text editor I use… all day every day.

Thank you @sorbits! Will there be some sort of announcement on the website as well? So I have something to point others to?

Thank you @sorbits! TextMate was the reason I moved to Mac so many years ago. No tool has been so indispensable as TextMate. Long live TextMate!

It's crazy (in a wonderful sort of way) to consider that I started using TextMate in 2006 during the early Rails hype. I had no programming experience, only youthful enthusiasm and a penchant for irresponsible caffeine consumption at 3am. TextMate was my first editor and I found delight in each new way I could use it more effectively.

I'm now at the point where I've been maintaining an open source project for a niche community for over six years. There are many tools I use now, and TextMate 2 is absolutely one of them. TextMate played a formative role in how I learned about code, software development, oss, and everything between. So, again,

Immense thanks to all those involved over the years! 💛

You can poke fun at its 15-year release schedule, but I'm really in awe that it is still going and still has an active community that loves it.
